No. There's no easy way to do this.
You may be able to perform some "social engineering" to figure it out. You can send an email which solicits a response, and then see who responds. Like: "The first person to email a reply to this gets a bazillion dollars". Or "You are receiving this HOURLY-P0RN-IN-YOUR-MAILBOX message because you recently subscribed through our website. If this was done in error, simply reply with a blank message and 'UNSUBSCRIBE' in the subject."
When you get a reply, see what the sender's name is. (Of course, this could be fake.)
Other ways: send an HTML email with an image on it, served up by a web server. When they open the email, the image being displayed will create a log record on the web server telling you the IP address of the person's computer when they read the mail. That may give you some hints as to their ISP, their location, etc.
Or send them a link to a web site, that says "HA ha .. this is really funny. put in your name, it'll tell you your relationship to thousands of famous people." (or something like that) When they key in their name (into YOUR web page), you'll know who they are.
"Check this out. Key in your name and zip code, and this web page will tell you if you have some unclaimed funds waiting for you". And when they key in their name, you have it.
Good luck!
If i have an email address, can i find out anonimously who it is?
You mean you have someone's email address and want to know who it is without exposing your identity? Well, if it is someone fairly active on the net they may have posted articles online that you can find in a google search (or yahoo).
